Some exciting news! Barcelona Design Tours has partnered with the Hotel Brummell, which is now offering their guests an exclusive design and urban experience tailor-made by us.
Situated in the lovely barrio of Poble Sec, where it’s steep streets morph into the leafy slopes of Montuïc, the boutique Hotel Brummell has been conceived for those looking for a more local experience coupled with stylish interiors and fabulous food. It’s a true urban oasis, slightly off the beaten track but close enough to Barcelona’s most interesting food, art and design hubs – the Raval. It’s the perfect setting for a design tour.
The hotel was built and designed to be relaxed, intimate, imaginative and adaptable. The façade of the building remains just as it was in 1870, while the interior was completely transformed by the architect, Inma Rábano. The interiors were conceived by the Australian born and Barcelona-based duo, Blankslate. Based on their numerous travels to Sri Lanka, and their passion for Geoffrey Bawa’s ‘tropical modernism’, Brummell became a place where other worlds and times mix with our local world and modern times.
The staff at HoteL Brummell is committed to introducing their guests to local culture – and this where Barcelona Design Tours comes in. The tour we have curated for the hotel will take place in the Raval district, Barcelona’s left-of-center downtown. Why? Well because it’s short walk from the hotel, and the neighborhood has an intense mix multiculturalism and cutting edge arts; The MACBA and CCCB, both bastions of the contemporary art scene, anchor an artistic community that thrives in the Ravel’s narrow streets and plazas. Street art and skate culture has found its spiritual home in the Raval, along with a myriad of bars, creative start-ups and innovative shops who feed off its sheer energy.
Barcelona Design Tours looks forward to sharing this energy and inspiration with the Hotel Brummell’s guests!
